Praising Jesus - us or rocks.

On the first Palm Sunday, the children AND adults praised Jesus with LOUD voices proclaiming him the King who comes in the name of the Lord! The Pharisees complained. Jesus essentially said, "either they praise or the rocks will." (Check out Luke 19.)

So, it is a choice - and Jesus challenged us with it - we can be praising our Savior and if we don't step up...well, it's us or rocks. I vote for us!! It just makes sense, I am created by God to love and serve Him. Why wouldn't I joyfully do what I'm created for - especially if I were going to be upstaged by ROCKS! That's crazy.

All us Christians would say that the Pharisees were SO mistaken...but increasingly we let other self-indulgent activities interfere with worship. When did God declare that sports, sleep, et cetera trump regular Lord's Day worship?? Really. What are you gonna say when you stand before God? And you will. How is your "reason" for doing "whatever" gonna sound when you are face to face with the Creator God? OK. It stops me in my tracks!

God gives me EVERYTHING essential - who am I to blow Him off? So, this Sunday, check it out - I'm in God's house praising Jesus...could be other places, but God's house is my choice! HOSANNA! Rocks will have to wait for another day! To God be praise and glory forever and ever - by ALL His people!

How many times do I have to say YES?

I like to help people. And my daddy died of a heart attack. So when the American Heart Association called asking if I'd do the "Dear Neighbor Campaign," I said "yes." So, I mailed donations requests to my neighbors, went the extra mile with a short personal note, collected the donations, and returned them on time. (That's amazing if you know my schedule.) On the return form, there was a request, "Will you participate next year? It will save us time and expense if you say "yes" now." And, I marked "yes." That was February. Now it's April and I got a mailing thanking me for participating and asking if I'd agree to help in 2012.

Dilemma: I said yes once. Should I say yes again? Didn't they get the first yes? What happens if I don't return this yes or if I say no? I don't have time for this!! I marked the card "yes" and put it in the mail.

How many times do I have to say YES? Well, two so far. AHA, I'm counting.

Springtime

Spring flowers are God's presents to me! I love to see the surprises that show up every day! After all the snow this winter, the flowers are especially precious this year! The flowers of suburbia are beautiful, but I can't wait to get out in the woods for the "wild ones."
